In 1989 the band met Dan Miller after a producer friend of Richard's called and said he thinks he found our drummer. The band met Dan (who was very quiet and shy at the time) and gave him a tape of 30 original songs. About two days later Dan showed up to try out with the band and knew all 30 songs na dplayed them flawlessly. It was agreeded instantly that Dan Miller was our drummer.
The band would rehearse all winter/spring. Right out of the gate the band was a non-stop energy. For the first few shows, the band had extra help to get it off the ground with a major impact. The band consisted of Tony DiGiulio, Richard Hofherr, Chris Senior, Dean Cutinelli, Dan Miller, Chris Mosher and Scott Coogan. With so many voices singing, the band was becoming known as a band with big back-up vocals as well as good original songs.
The first show with the new line-up was at Harper College in Palatine, IL. The band sold close to 400 tickets to this event and played to over 1,200 people. During this time, Richard crossed paths with Bob Joziwak, who went to Elk Grove with Richard and Tony. Bob worked as a DJ on two radio stations, which he started playing 7th heaven's music on. That summer Bob Jozwiak started working for 7th heaven.
This was also the first year 7th heaven started playing festivals.
7th heaven built a good fan base thru playing the clubs. Establishing the first band PO Box, it was the first time the band started getting fan letters from all different types of places.
